Welcome to Ban Raya
Ban Raya is a resort on the Island of Racha
Yai which is situated 12 nm south of Phuket Island on the south west
coast of Thailand. Our Resort is situated 2 minutes walk away from a
lovely snorkeling & diving beach and 20 minutes walk away from the main
beach and boat anchorage.
Racha Yai is a beautiful unspoiled and
unsophisticated Island. The ideal place to get away from it. There are
no roads and hence no traffic. It is a small island so walking is easy
and enjoyable.
Ban Raya consists of 60 acres on the south
east corner of the island. The resort sits on a headland and the
property streaches down to two bays. The first Ao Konkare has some of
the best diving and snorkeling in the region and the other, Ao Ter, has
beautiful white sands and shallow safe water for swimming and
snorkeling.
Restaurant
The main restaurant at Ban Raya specialists in
healthy eating using the freshest of local produce from both land and
sea. Vegetarian dishes are a specialty and other dietary requirements
can be catered for.
A feature of Ban Raya is their specially selected menus at both Lunch
and Dinner but an A La Carte menu is always available and meals can be
served at any time from 8 am. to 10 pm.
A beach bar is situated on the beach at Kon Kare Bay where a selection of
refreshments and snacks is available for those who wish stay on the
beach.
Both restaurants have bar facilities and there is a good selection of
Beer, Wines and Spirits.
However because of the island location stocks are limited but special
requirements will be catered for as far as possible. The emphasis is on
personal service.
How To get
Pick
up from Phuket airport can be arranged by the resort Most
daily boat services depart from Phuket in the morning and return
back from the island late afternoon ( see boat detail in the table
below ).
In order to meet flight schedules etc. it maybe necessary to
spend a night in Phuket, but if you would like to go and come back
whenever you want chartered boat on request is also possible.
High Season::
Pick up and drop off services are included in the
boat price for the customers who stay in Phuket town, Patong beach,
Kata beach and Karon beach. From other places the extra charge will
be added Boat will leave from Chalong pier at 9:00 a.m. and
arrive to the island (Patok bay) around 9:30 a.m. Pick up from the
boat to the resort will be arranged by the resort.
Return from the island is between 2:00 – 3:00
p.m. and arrival to Phuket around 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. All other times
the charter boat can be arranged by the resort. Boats are mostly
speed boats
Green Season::
Pick up and drop off services are included in the boat
price for the customers who stay in Phuket town, Patong beach, Kata
beach and Karon beach. From other places the extra charge will be
added (see price list). Boat will leave from Chalong pier around
8:00 a.m. and arrive to the island (Ter bay) around 9:30 a.m. Return
from the island is between 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. and arrival to Phuket
around 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. All other times the charter boat can be
arranged by the resort.
Boats are mainly dive ferry boats and longtail boats. Pick up
from the boat to the hotel will be arranged by the resort.

Green Sari Spa is well trained and experienced. The spa is
located just few steps away from the rooms.

Accommodation
Ban Raya
only has 48 rooms situated in a garden atmosphere so that everyone has a
feeling of space and relaxation.
38 rooms
are air-conditioned and all have en-suite bathrooms and are furnished to
international standards. Showers are cool and refreshing and the
emphasis is on maintaining the natural environment at Ban Raya.
Communication
with the outside world is not encouraged and there are no telephones in
the rooms but a public telephone is available on the resort for those
who must keep in touch.

All the rooms are well-constructed and high standard of
cleanliness.
We offer two types of rooms: 10 standard electric fan rooms
and 16 superior air conditioned rooms, 16 Deluxe Room & 6 Pavilion
Room
All the rooms have own bathroom, mosquito screen and balcony.
None of the rooms are more than two minutes walk from the seafront (Konkare
bay).
In Ban Raya Resort you can enjoy your own privacy far from
the crowds.
Please note : We operate electricity from 6:00 pm. Until 08:00
am. By our generators with 4 backup system.

Facility
Ban Raya has a private facility to
accommodate conferences or private functions. The facility is situated
adjacent to Ao Konkare and has both indoor and outdoor facilities with a
separate kitchen to cater for special requirements if required. This is
the perfect "Get Away" for executives wishing a peaceful environment for
that important meeting or activities based weekend. With nature walks,
healthy eating and some of the best sea based activities that you could
imagine.

Location
Patok beach::
( 10 - 15 minutes walk from Ban Raya )The main beach of the island
is in good condition from November to April and accessible for boats
to anchorage in high season.
This 600-m. long white sand beach is ideal for sun bathing,
swimming and all water activities including diving.
Siam beach::
( 10 - 15 minutes walk from Ban Raya ) The longest white sand beach
on the island is in good condition all year round.
Siam bay has quiet and relaxed atmosphere and its shallow
water is suitable also for kids to swim. In Siam bay you can meet
local fishermen.
Konkare bay::
( Where Ban Raya is located ) is in good condition all year
round.This bay is the best place to go snorkeling on the island. You
can find the big colony of hard coral reef and huge variety of
different kinds of fishes.
The bay is also good for diving, you can just pack your
equipment and walk into the water.
Ter bay::
( 5 - 7 minutes walk from Ban Raya ) beach is a beautiful
rocky based beach near Ban Raya Resort. Between May and October the
beach becomes to a perfect white sand beach.
Ter bay is good for swimming, snorkeling and diving. This is
also the place where boats anchorage in low season (from May to
October). |
